Sermon Series: Let It Go

On Sundays, the congregation arrives, and we congregants carry into the worship space invisible suitcases, the baggage of life. There are trunks full of guilt and shame, valises of resentment and sorrow, duffle bags crammed full of fears and anxieties. And each week, there is the opportunity to leave that baggage at the foot of the cross. But too often we just pick up our baggage at the end of the service and carry it back out, dragging it around every day. What would it be like if we could just let it go? God offers us that opportunity. In worship we will begin our new year with a series titled “Let it Go!”, considering together how we can trade our baggage for the joy and peace of a savior’s love.
