Elizabeth “Betsy” Evans Obituary

Elizabeth “Betsy” Evans, 84, of Sugar Land Texas passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022 after a brief illness.  Betsy was born on January 13, 1938 to parents Carl and Ruth Anderson in Menominee, Michigan.

Betsy earned her teaching degree from North Park University in Chicago, IL.  She taught elementary school in Alief ISD for 27 years. She always enjoyed hearing from and running into her former students.

Betsy is preceded in death by her parents Carl & Ruth Anderson, her sister Ruth Maria Borns, and her brother David Anderson.

Betsy is survived by her brother Chuck Anderson, her dear friend Coach Bobby Plummer, Kirk & Amy Evans, Scot & Christine Evans, Carol & Bill Odle, and her grandchildren, Claire, Kirk Jr., and Kelso.

Betsy loved her church, cheering on her Grandkids at every sport, watching the Rockets, Astros and the Green Bay Packers with Bobby, collecting Santas and decorating for Christmas, listening to George Strait, getting her nails done, baking cookies, and watching Jeopardy.

Services will be held on Friday June 3 at 11:00am at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Gethsemane Campus at 6856 Bellaire Blvd.  In honor of Betsy’s love of sports, please feel free to wear your favorite team jersey.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Silver Circle, a monthly gathering for seniors that Betsy and Bobby organized together and felt very strongly about.
